Progressive Dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year

The International Club of Gaston Christian School recently held a Progressive Dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year. A global cuisine was on the menu.  The first course was from Mexico, the second course was Chinese fare, and the third course were global desserts from Germany, Spain, China, and USA.

International student, Heyu (Betty) Chen, explained the origin of the Chinese New Year celebration.  She also explained drawings of traditional Chinese writing to usher in the new year.

The mission statement of the International Club of Gaston Christian School is to raise global awareness and connect students to the international community and to spread God’s love, not only at GCS, but around the world. We sponsor Operation Christmas Child of Samaritan’s Purse.
